L-theanine is an amino acid that is found in tea leaves. It can be summed up as being a relaxing agent without any sedation and is also said to reduce the feeling of stress and improve attention.
L-theanine does not appear to induce sleep however, it may help with sleep due to its relaxing properties.
The relaxing and attention promoting properties of L-theanine coupled with the lack of sedation means that L-Theanine is used in combination with many stimulants to take the edge off.
